If you have consented to data processing, we process your personal data on the basis of Art. 6(1)(a) GDPR or Art. 9(2)(a) GDPR if special categories of data pursuant to Art. 9(1) GDPR are processed. In the case of express consent to the transfer of personal data to third countries, processing is also based on Art. 49(1)(a) GDPR. If you have consented to the storage of cookies or access to information on your terminal device (e.g., via device fingerprinting), processing is additionally based on Section 25(1) TTDSG. Consent can be revoked at any time. If your data is required for contract performance or for pre-contractual measures, we process your data on the basis of Art. 6(1)(b) GDPR. Furthermore, we process your data if this is necessary to comply with a legal obligation on the basis of Art. 6(1)(c) GDPR. Data processing may also be based on our legitimate interest pursuant to Art. 6(1)(f) GDPR. The relevant legal bases in each individual case are explained in the following sections of this privacy policy.

Notice on Data Transfers to the USA and Other Third Countries

We use, among other things, tools from companies based in the USA or other third countries that are not considered secure from a data protection perspective. If these tools are active, your personal data may be transferred to these third countries and processed there. We would like to point out that a level of data protection comparable to that in the EU cannot be guaranteed in these countries. For example, US companies may be obliged to hand over personal data to security authorities without you being able to take legal action against this. Therefore, it cannot be ruled out that US authorities (e.g., intelligence services) process, analyze and permanently store your data located on US servers for surveillance purposes. We have no influence on these processing activities.

Revocation of Your Consent to Data Processing

Many data processing operations are only possible with your explicit consent. You can revoke consent you have already given at any time. The lawfulness of data processing carried out until the revocation remains unaffected by the revocation.

Right to Object to Data Collection in Special Cases and to Direct Marketing (Art. 21 GDPR)

If data processing is based on Art. 6(1)(e) or (f) GDPR, you have the right at any time, for reasons arising from your particular situation, to object to the processing of your personal data; this also applies to profiling based on these provisions. The respective legal basis on which processing is based can be found in this privacy policy. If you object, we will no longer process your personal data unless we can demonstrate compelling legitimate grounds for the processing which override your interests, rights and freedoms, or the processing serves the establishment, exercise or defense of legal claims (objection pursuant to Art. 21(1) GDPR).

If your personal data is processed for direct marketing purposes, you have the right at any time to object to the processing of personal data concerning you for the purpose of such advertising; this also applies to profiling to the extent that it is related to such direct marketing. If you object, your personal data will subsequently no longer be used for direct marketing purposes (objection pursuant to Art. 21(2) GDPR).

Right to Lodge a Complaint with the Competent Supervisory Authority

In the event of violations of the GDPR, data subjects have the right to lodge a complaint with a supervisory authority, in particular in the Member State of their habitual residence, place of work, or place of the alleged infringement. This right exists without prejudice to any other administrative or judicial remedy.

Right to Data Portability

You have the right to receive data that we process automatically on the basis of your consent or in fulfillment of a contract, in a commonly used, machine-readable format, and to have it transmitted to you or to a third party. If you request the direct transfer of the data to another controller, this will only take place insofar as it is technically feasible.

SSL/TLS Encryption

This site uses SSL/TLS encryption for security reasons and to protect the transmission of confidential content, such as orders or inquiries that you send to us as the site operator. You can recognize an encrypted connection by the fact that the address line of the browser changes from “http://” to “https://” and by the lock symbol in your browser line.

If SSL/TLS encryption is activated, the data you transmit to us cannot be read by third parties.

Information, Deletion and Correction

Within the scope of applicable legal provisions, you have the right at any time to free information about your stored personal data, its origin and recipients and the purpose of data processing and, if applicable, a right to correction or deletion of this data. You can contact us at any time regarding this and other questions on the subject of personal data.

Right to Restriction of Processing

You have the right to request the restriction of the processing of your personal data. You can contact us at any time for this. The right to restriction of processing exists in the following cases:

  • If you dispute the accuracy of your personal data stored by us, we usually need time to verify this. For the duration of the verification, you have the right to request the restriction of the processing of your personal data.
  • If the processing of your personal data was/is unlawful, you can request restriction of data processing instead of deletion.
  • If we no longer need your personal data, but you require it for the establishment, exercise or defense of legal claims, you have the right to request restriction of processing instead of deletion.
  • If you have lodged an objection pursuant to Art. 21(1) GDPR, a balancing of your interests and ours must be carried out. As long as it has not yet been determined whose interests prevail, you have the right to request the restriction of the processing of your personal data.

If you have restricted the processing of your personal data, such data may—apart from being stored—only be processed with your consent or for the establishment, exercise or defense of legal claims or for the protection of the rights of another natural or legal person or for reasons of important public interest of the European Union or a Member State.

Objection to Advertising Emails

We hereby object to the use of contact data published within the scope of the legal notice obligation for the sending of unsolicited advertising and information material. The operators of the pages expressly reserve the right to take legal action in the event of unsolicited sending of advertising information, for example through spam emails.

4. Data Collection on This Website

Cookies

Our websites use so-called “cookies.” Cookies are small text files and do not cause any damage to your device. They are either stored temporarily for the duration of a session (session cookies) or permanently (persistent cookies) on your device. Session cookies are automatically deleted after your visit ends. Persistent cookies remain stored on your device until you delete them yourself or an automatic deletion is carried out by your web browser.

In some cases, cookies from third-party companies may also be stored on your device when you enter our site (third-party cookies). These enable us or you to use certain services of the third-party company (e.g., cookies for processing payment services).

Cookies have various functions. Many cookies are technically necessary, as certain website functions would not work without them (e.g., the shopping cart function or the display of videos). Other cookies are used to evaluate user behavior or display advertising.

Cookies that are required to carry out the electronic communication process, to provide certain functions requested by you (e.g., for the shopping cart function) or to optimize the website (e.g., cookies for measuring web audiences) (necessary cookies) are stored on the basis of Art. 6(1)(f) GDPR unless another legal basis is specified. The website operator has a legitimate interest in storing necessary cookies for the technically error-free and optimized provision of its services. If consent for the storage of cookies and comparable recognition technologies has been requested, processing is carried out exclusively on the basis of this consent (Art. 6(1)(a) GDPR and Section 25(1) TTDSG); consent can be revoked at any time.

You can set your browser so that you are informed about the setting of cookies and allow cookies only in individual cases, exclude the acceptance of cookies for certain cases or in general, and activate the automatic deletion of cookies when closing the browser. If cookies are deactivated, the functionality of this website may be limited.

If cookies are used by third-party companies or for analysis purposes, we will inform you about this separately within the scope of this privacy policy and, if necessary, request your consent.

The provider of the pages automatically collects and stores information in so-called server log files, which your browser automatically transmits to us. These are:

  • Browser type and browser version
  • Operating system used
  • Referrer URL
  • Host name of the accessing computer
  • Time of the server request
  • IP address

This data is not combined with other data sources.

This data is collected on the basis of Art. 6(1)(f) GDPR. The website operator has a legitimate interest in the technically error-free presentation and optimization of its website—this requires the recording of server log files.

Contact Form

If you send us inquiries via the contact form, your details from the inquiry form including the contact details you provided there will be stored by us for the purpose of processing the request and in case of follow-up questions. We will not pass on this data without your consent.

This data is processed on the basis of Art. 6(1)(b) GDPR, insofar as your inquiry is related to the fulfillment of a contract or is necessary for the implementation of pre-contractual measures. In all other cases, processing is based on our legitimate interest in effectively processing inquiries addressed to us (Art. 6(1)(f) GDPR) or on your consent (Art. 6(1)(a) GDPR) if this has been requested; consent can be revoked at any time.

The data you enter in the contact form remains with us until you request its deletion, revoke your consent to storage or the purpose for data storage no longer applies (e.g., after your inquiry has been processed). Mandatory statutory provisions—especially retention periods—remain unaffected.

Inquiries by Email, Telephone or Fax

If you contact us by email, telephone or fax, your inquiry including all personal data arising from it (name, inquiry) will be stored and processed by us for the purpose of processing your request. We will not pass on this data without your consent.

This data is processed on the basis of Art. 6(1)(b) GDPR if your inquiry is related to contract fulfillment or is necessary for pre-contractual measures. In all other cases, processing is based on our legitimate interest in effectively processing inquiries addressed to us (Art. 6(1)(f) GDPR) or on your consent (Art. 6(1)(a) GDPR) if requested; consent can be revoked at any time.

The data sent to us via contact requests remains with us until you request deletion, revoke your consent to storage or the purpose for data storage no longer applies (e.g., after your request has been processed). Mandatory statutory provisions—especially statutory retention periods—remain unaffected.

Data Processing Agreement
We have concluded a data processing agreement (DPA) with the above-mentioned provider. This is a contract required by data protection law which ensures that the provider processes personal data only in accordance with our instructions and in compliance with the GDPR.

Consent can be revoked at any time.

To the extent that personal data is collected on our website using the tool described here and forwarded to Facebook, we and Meta Platforms Ireland Limited are jointly responsible for this data processing (Art. 26 GDPR). According to this agreement, we are responsible for providing privacy information when using the Facebook tool and for the data protection-compliant implementation of the tool on our website. Facebook is responsible for the data security of Facebook products. Data subject rights (e.g., requests for information) regarding data processed by Facebook can be asserted directly with Facebook. If you assert your rights with us, we are obliged to forward them to Facebook.

6. Analytics Tools and Advertising

Google Analytics

This website uses functions of the web analytics service Google Analytics. The provider is Google Ireland Limited (“Google”), Gordon House, Barrow Street, Dublin 4, Ireland.

Google Analytics enables the website operator to analyze the behavior of website visitors. The website operator receives various usage data such as page views, time spent on the site, operating systems used and the user’s origin. This data is summarized in a user ID and assigned to the respective device of the website visitor.

We can also use Google Analytics to record your mouse and scroll movements and clicks. Furthermore, Google Analytics uses various modeling approaches to supplement the recorded data sets and uses machine-learning technologies in data analysis.

Google Analytics uses technologies that enable the recognition of the user for the purpose of analyzing user behavior (e.g., cookies or device fingerprinting). The information collected by Google about your use of this website is usually transferred to a Google server in the USA and stored there.

The use of this service is based on your consent pursuant to Art. 6(1)(a) GDPR and Section 25(1) TTDSG. Consent can be revoked at any time.

Data transfers to the USA are based on the EU Commission’s standard contractual clauses. Details can be found here: https://privacy.google.com/businesses/controllerterms/mccs/.

IP Anonymization
We have activated IP anonymization on this website. This means that your IP address will be truncated by Google within Member States of the European Union or in other contracting states of the Agreement on the European Economic Area before being transmitted to the USA. Only in exceptional cases will the full IP address be transmitted to a Google server in the USA and truncated there. On behalf of the operator of this website, Google will use this information to evaluate your use of the website, compile reports on website activity and provide further services related to website and internet usage to the website operator. The IP address transmitted by your browser as part of Google Analytics is not merged with other Google data.

Browser Plugin
You can prevent the collection and processing of your data by Google by downloading and installing the browser plugin available at the following link: https://tools.google.com/dlpage/gaoptout?hl=de.

More information on how Google Analytics handles user data can be found in Google’s privacy policy: https://support.google.com/analytics/answer/6004245?hl=de.

Data Processing Agreement
We have concluded a data processing agreement with Google and fully implement the strict requirements of German data protection authorities when using Google Analytics.

Google Ads

The website operator uses Google Ads. Google Ads is an online advertising program of Google Ireland Limited (“Google”), Gordon House, Barrow Street, Dublin 4, Ireland.

Google Ads enables us to display advertisements in the Google search engine or on third-party websites when the user enters certain search terms on Google (keyword targeting). Furthermore, targeted ads can be displayed based on user data available at Google (e.g., location data and interests) (audience targeting). As the website operator, we can evaluate this data quantitatively, for example by analyzing which search terms triggered our ads and how many ads led to corresponding clicks.

The use of this service is based on your consent pursuant to Art. 6(1)(a) GDPR and Section 25(1) TTDSG. Consent can be revoked at any time.

Data transfers to the USA are based on the EU Commission’s standard contractual clauses. Details can be found here:

Google Remarketing

This website uses the functions of Google Analytics Remarketing. The provider is Google Ireland Limited (“Google”), Gordon House, Barrow Street, Dublin 4, Ireland.

Google Remarketing analyzes your user behavior on our website (e.g., clicking on certain products) in order to classify you into certain advertising audiences and subsequently display suitable advertising messages to you when visiting other online offers (remarketing/retargeting).

Furthermore, the advertising audiences created with Google Remarketing can be linked with Google’s cross-device functions. In this way, interest-based, personalized advertising messages that have been adapted to you based on your previous usage and browsing behavior on one device (e.g., mobile phone) can also be displayed on another of your devices (e.g., tablet or PC).

If you have a Google account, you can object to personalized advertising at the following link: https://www.google.com/settings/ads/onweb/.

The use of this service is based on your consent pursuant to Art. 6(1)(a) GDPR and Section 25(1) TTDSG. Consent can be revoked at any time.

Further information and Google’s privacy policy can be found at: https://policies.google.com/technologies/ads?hl=de.

To build audiences, we also use Google Remarketing Customer Match. In this process, we transfer certain customer data (e.g., email addresses) from our customer lists to Google. If the customers concerned are Google users and logged into their Google account, suitable advertising messages are displayed to them within the Google network (e.g., on YouTube, Gmail or in the search engine).

Google Conversion Tracking

This website uses Google Conversion Tracking. The provider is Google Ireland Limited (“Google”), Gordon House, Barrow Street, Dublin 4, Ireland.

With the help of Google Conversion Tracking, Google and we can recognize whether the user has performed certain actions. For example, we can evaluate which buttons on our website were clicked how often and which products were viewed or purchased particularly frequently. This information is used to create conversion statistics. We learn the total number of users who clicked on our ads and which actions they performed. We do not receive information that allows us to personally identify the user. Google itself uses cookies or comparable recognition technologies for identification.

The use of this service is based on your consent pursuant to Art. 6(1)(a) GDPR and Section 25(1) TTDSG. Consent can be revoked at any time.

More information on Google Conversion Tracking can be found in Google’s privacy policy: https://policies.google.com/privacy?hl=de.

Facebook Pixel

This website uses the Facebook visitor action pixel for conversion measurement. The provider of this service is Meta Platforms Ireland Limited, 4 Grand Canal Square, Dublin 2, Ireland. According to Facebook, the collected data is also transferred to the USA and other third countries.

This allows the behavior of site visitors to be tracked after they have been redirected to the provider’s website by clicking on a Facebook ad. This makes it possible to evaluate the effectiveness of Facebook ads for statistical and market research purposes and to optimize future advertising measures.

The data collected is anonymous for us as the operator of this website; we cannot draw any conclusions about the identity of users. However, the data is stored and processed by Facebook so that a connection to the respective user profile is possible and Facebook can use the data for its own advertising purposes in accordance with Facebook’s data usage policy. This enables Facebook to place ads on Facebook pages and outside of Facebook. We as the website operator cannot influence this use of the data.

The use of this service is based on your consent pursuant to Art. 6(1)(a) GDPR and Section 25(1) TTDSG. Consent can be revoked at any time.

Data transfers to the USA are based on the EU Commission’s standard contractual clauses. Details can be found here:
https://www.facebook.com/legal/EU_data_transfer_addendum and
https://de-de.facebook.com/help/566994660333381.

To the extent that personal data is collected on our website using the tool described here and forwarded to Facebook, we and Meta Platforms Ireland Limited are jointly responsible for this data processing (Art. 26 GDPR). Joint responsibility is limited exclusively to the collection of data and its transfer to Facebook. The processing by Facebook after forwarding is not part of the joint responsibility. The obligations jointly incumbent on us have been set out in an agreement on joint processing. The wording can be found at: https://www.facebook.com/legal/controller_addendum.

Further information on protecting your privacy can be found in Facebook’s privacy policy: https://de-de.facebook.com/about/privacy/.

You can also deactivate the remarketing function “Custom Audiences” in the ad settings at: https://www.facebook.com/ads/preferences/?entry_product=ad_settings_screen. You must be logged into Facebook to do this.

If you do not have a Facebook account, you can deactivate usage-based advertising from Facebook on the website of the European Interactive Digital Advertising Alliance:
http://www.youronlinechoices.com/de/praferenzmanagement/.

7. Newsletter

Newsletter Data

If you would like to subscribe to the newsletter offered on the website, we require an email address from you as well as information that allows us to verify that you are the owner of the specified email address and that you agree to receive the newsletter. No further data is collected, or only on a voluntary basis. For the processing of the newsletter, we use newsletter service providers, which are described below.

Sendinblue

This website uses Sendinblue to send newsletters. The provider is Sendinblue GmbH, Köpenicker Straße 126, 10179 Berlin, Germany.

Sendinblue is a service with which, among other things, the sending of newsletters can be organized and analyzed. The data you enter for the purpose of receiving the newsletter is stored on Sendinblue servers in Germany.

Data Analysis by Sendinblue
With the help of Sendinblue, we can analyze our newsletter campaigns. For example, we can see whether a newsletter message has been opened and which links were clicked, if any. This enables us to determine, among other things, which links were clicked particularly often.

We can also recognize whether certain previously defined actions were carried out after opening/clicking (conversion rate). For example, we can recognize whether you made a purchase after clicking on the newsletter.

Sendinblue also enables us to categorize (“cluster”) newsletter recipients according to various criteria. Newsletter recipients can be categorized, for example, by age, gender, or place of residence. In this way, newsletters can be better tailored to the respective target groups.

If you do not want Sendinblue to analyze your data, you must unsubscribe from the newsletter. We provide a corresponding link for this purpose in each newsletter message.

Detailed information about Sendinblue’s functions can be found at: https://de.sendinblue.com/newsletter-software/.

Legal Basis
Data processing is based on your consent (Art. 6(1)(a) GDPR). You can revoke this consent at any time. The lawfulness of the data processing operations already carried out remains unaffected by the revocation.

Storage Duration
The data you provided for the purpose of subscribing to the newsletter is stored by us until you unsubscribe from the newsletter, and is deleted from the newsletter distribution list after unsubscribing. Data stored by us for other purposes remains unaffected.

After you unsubscribe from the newsletter distribution list, your email address may be stored by us or the newsletter service provider in a blacklist, insofar as this is necessary to prevent future mailings. The data from the blacklist is used only for this purpose and is not merged with other data. This serves both your interest and our interest in complying with legal requirements for sending newsletters (legitimate interest within the meaning of Art. 6(1)(f) GDPR). Storage in the blacklist is not limited in time. You can object to the storage if your interests outweigh our legitimate interest.

Further details can be found in Sendinblue’s privacy policy: https://de.sendinblue.com/datenschutz-uebersicht/.

Data Processing Agreement
We have concluded a data processing agreement (DPA) with the above-mentioned provider. This is a contract required by data protection law which ensures that the provider processes the personal data of our website visitors only in accordance with our instructions and in compliance with the GDPR.

Google Web Fonts

This site uses so-called web fonts provided by Google for the uniform display of fonts. When you access a page, your browser loads the required web fonts into your browser cache in order to display texts and fonts correctly.

For this purpose, the browser you use must connect to Google’s servers. As a result, Google becomes aware that this website was accessed via your IP address. The use of Google Web Fonts is based on Art. 6(1)(f) GDPR. The website operator has a legitimate interest in the uniform presentation of the typeface on its website. If appropriate consent has been requested, processing is carried out exclusively on the basis of Art. 6(1)(a) GDPR and Section 25(1) TTDSG, insofar as consent includes the storage of cookies or access to information on the user’s terminal device (e.g., device fingerprinting) within the meaning of the TTDSG. Consent can be revoked at any time.

If your browser does not support web fonts, a standard font from your computer will be used.

More information about Google Web Fonts can be found at: https://developers.google.com/fonts/faq and in Google’s privacy policy: https://policies.google.com/privacy?hl=de.

OpenStreetMap

We use the map service of OpenStreetMap (OSM).

We integrate OpenStreetMap map material from the servers of the OpenStreetMap Foundation, St John’s Innovation Centre, Cowley Road, Cambridge, CB4 0WS, United Kingdom. The United Kingdom is considered a safe third country under data protection law. This means that the UK has a level of data protection equivalent to that of the European Union. When using the OpenStreetMap maps, a connection to the servers of the OpenStreetMap Foundation is established. In this process, your IP address and other information about your behavior on this website may be forwarded to the OSMF. OpenStreetMap may store cookies in your browser or use comparable recognition technologies for this purpose.

The use of OpenStreetMap is in the interest of an appealing presentation of our online offerings and to make it easy to find the locations we specify on the website. This constitutes a legitimate interest within the meaning of Art. 6(1)(f) GDPR.

Google reCAPTCHA

We use “Google reCAPTCHA” (“reCAPTCHA”) on this website. The provider is Google Ireland Limited (“Google”), Gordon House, Barrow Street, Dublin 4, Ireland.

reCAPTCHA is used to check whether data entry on this website (e.g., in a contact form) is carried out by a human or by an automated program. For this purpose, reCAPTCHA analyzes the behavior of the website visitor based on various characteristics. This analysis starts automatically as soon as the visitor enters the website. For the analysis, reCAPTCHA evaluates various information (e.g., IP address, time spent on the website, or mouse movements). The data collected during the analysis is forwarded to Google.

The reCAPTCHA analyses run completely in the background. Website visitors are not informed that an analysis is taking place.

The storage and analysis of data is based on Art. 6(1)(f) GDPR. The website operator has a legitimate interest in protecting its web offers from abusive automated spying and from SPAM.

More information about Google reCAPTCHA can be found in Google’s privacy policy and terms of use at:

9. Audio and Video Conferences

Data Processing
We use online conference tools, among other things, to communicate with our customers. The tools we use are listed below. If you communicate with us via video or audio conference over the internet, your personal data is collected and processed by us and the provider of the respective conference tool.

The conference tools collect all data that you provide/use for using the tools (email address and/or your phone number). The conference tools also process the duration of the conference, start and end (time) of participation, number of participants, and other “context information” in connection with the communication process (metadata).

In addition, the tool provider processes all technical data required to handle online communication. This includes in particular IP addresses, MAC addresses, device IDs, device type, operating system type and version, client version, camera type, microphone or speaker, and the type of connection.

If content is exchanged, uploaded or otherwise provided within the tool, it is also stored on the servers of the tool providers. Such content includes, in particular, cloud recordings, chat/instant messages, voicemails, uploaded photos and videos, files, whiteboards and other information shared while using the service.

Please note that we do not have full influence over the data processing operations of the tools used. Our options depend largely on the corporate policy of the respective provider. Further information on data processing by the conference tools can be found in the privacy policies of the tools used, which are listed below this text.

Purpose and Legal Bases
The conference tools are used to communicate with prospective or existing contractual partners or to offer certain services to our customers (Art. 6(1)(b) GDPR). Furthermore, the use of the tools serves the general simplification and acceleration of communication with us or our company (legitimate interest within the meaning of Art. 6(1)(f) GDPR). Where consent has been requested, the use of the relevant tools is based on this consent; consent can be revoked at any time with effect for the future.

Storage Duration
The data collected directly by us via the video and conference tools is deleted from our systems as soon as you request deletion, revoke your consent to storage, or the purpose for storing the data no longer applies. Stored cookies remain on your device until you delete them. Mandatory statutory retention periods remain unaffected.

We have no influence on the storage duration of your data stored by the operators of the conference tools for their own purposes. For details, please contact the operators of the conference tools directly.

Handling of Applicant Data

We offer you the opportunity to apply to us (e.g., by email, post, or via an online application form). Below, we inform you about the scope, purpose, and use of the personal data collected from you as part of the application process. We assure you that the collection, processing, and use of your data are carried out in accordance with applicable data protection laws and all other statutory provisions and that your data is treated with strict confidentiality.

Scope and Purpose of Data Collection

If you submit an application to us, we process the personal data associated with it (e.g., contact and communication data, application documents, notes taken during interviews, etc.) insofar as this is necessary to decide on the establishment of an employment relationship.

The legal basis for this processing is Section 26 of the German Federal Data Protection Act (BDSG) (initiation of an employment relationship), Art. 6(1)(b) GDPR (general contract initiation), and—if you have given your consent—Art. 6(1)(a) GDPR. Consent can be revoked at any time.

After this period, your data will be deleted, provided that there are no statutory retention obligations or other legitimate reasons for further storage. If you have given us your consent to store your data for a longer period (e.g., for inclusion in an applicant pool), the data will be stored on the basis of this consent and deleted when you revoke your consent.
